The five safety rules (Lockout / Tagout)

The five safety rules are the central requirements for establishing and ensuring a de-energized state at a work site for the entire duration of the work.

1. Unlock / Disconnect completely
2. Secure against reconnection
3. Verify that the installation is dead / de-energised
4. Carry out earthing and short-circuiting
5. Provide protection against adjacent live parts
