Protective cover
A cover is a protective device that protects against direct contact in all usual directions of access. These means of protection must be selected and installed in such a way that they provide adequate protection against the expected electrical and mechanical stresses. An “insulating cover” is a rigid or flexible device made of insulating material that covers energized, de-energized or adjacent parts to prevent accidental direct contact. Insulating covers can also be fitted at a distance less than the dimensions of the danger zone, provided they have sufficient electrical and mechanical strength.
